Otívar: Puerto Venta Lata

This hike starts near Mesón Los Prados, ascending first toward the mountain pass known as Puerto de la Venta de la Lata, at about 1,300 meters above sea level. From there, we continue around Altos del Humo, enjoying panoramic views of the Lecrín Valley, the Sierra Nevada, and the surrounding hills and terraces.

For lunch, we stop at an old ruin in a peaceful spot with a beautiful view and a grassy area perfect for relaxing and taking a break. It’s a quiet place that invites you to slow down and enjoy the mountain scenery.

On the way back, we follow scenic forest trails that gradually descend toward the starting point. At the end of the hike, we’ll likely stop at Mesón Los Prados for a drink together. The route is moderate to challenging, with some climbs and rocky paths, so good footwear and enough water are recommended.
