🏖️ During the summer period, we do not organize hikes. We usually resume at the beginning of September. Please note if you go by yourself, temperatures above ☀️ 25°C (77°F) make a hike more strenuous than usual. Read more about the risks here.

This scenic hike starts in the spa town of Lanjarón, often described as the gateway to the Alpujarras. From the village, we first descend gently into the valley, quickly leaving the built-up area behind. During this descent, we enjoy open landscapes and lovely views that give a clear impression of Lanjarón’s unique setting among mountains and valleys.

After the descent, the climb towards the castle ruins begins. As we gain height, the views become increasingly impressive. Upon reaching the ruins, we are rewarded with a stunning panoramic view over Lanjarón, the valley below and the surrounding mountain ranges. This historic site clearly shows why this location once had great strategic importance.

The hike offers a pleasant mix of gentle paths, elevation gain and varied natural surroundings. Along the way, we enjoy the quiet, fresh mountain air and constantly changing scenery. This route is ideal for hikers who appreciate nature, history and beautiful views, without it becoming too technical.
