🏖️ During the summer period, we do not organize hikes. We usually resume at the beginning of September. Please note if you go by yourself, temperatures above ☀️ 25°C (77°F) make a hike more strenuous than usual. Read more about the risks here.

This iconic hike through the Río Chíllar is one of the most popular routes in the area, known for its stunning scenery and refreshing river walk. Starting near Nerja, the trail follows the riverbed through narrow gorges, waterfalls, and crystal-clear pools where you can cool off along the way.

The route takes us past Vado de los Patos, the famous Río Chíllar waterfall, and up to the old dam (Presa de la Acequia). It’s a truly unforgettable experience, especially on a warm day, walking directly through the water, surrounded by high rock walls and lush vegetation.

Important note: The Río Chíllar route is currently closed indefinitely due to environmental protection and safety concerns. Please respect local regulations and check for updates before planning a visit.

From the parking lot to the starting point and back is about an extra 3 km.
