Frigiliana: Río Higuerón, Acequia
- 11.7 km
- 239 m
- 4h 30min
- Free
This hike starts in Frigiliana and descends to the Río Higuerón, following the river upstream for about 6 km. After that, the route takes the Acequia back down toward the village, completing a circular path. The trail offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and lush vegetation along the river.
Some sections include steep drops, so this hike is not recommended for those with a fear of heights or who get dizzy easily. Careful footing is required, especially near the river and along narrow paths. Proper shoes and a sense of caution make the hike safe and enjoyable.
The hike finishes back in Frigiliana, where you can relax and enjoy the charming village atmosphere after an invigorating route. It’s a rewarding hike for those who enjoy mountain rivers and varied terrain.
Dogs must stay on a short leash near the water channels (acequias) for safety.
In the description I mentioned that the hike is difficult, but that is mainly because of some scary and risky sections. The hike is actually moderate if you don’t suffer from vertigo or dizziness.
