This varied hike starts along the Carretera de la Cabra, on the edge of the impressive Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park. From here, we head into the mountains, where rugged hillsides, deep valleys and beautiful panoramic views create a constantly changing landscape. Along the way, we pass the old Venta Marina and Fuente del Madroñal, two characteristic landmarks in this mountainous area.
Further along the route, we encounter several ruins, quiet reminders of life in these remote mountains in the past. The trail takes us through varied scenery, with rocky paths and Mediterranean vegetation. One of the highlights is the climb to a mountain peak, where we are rewarded with magnificent views across the surrounding mountain ranges.
The combination of nature, history and impressive panoramas makes this hike particularly special. Far from the villages, we discover a rugged and lesser-known corner of Andalusia, where the mountains dominate the landscape and a different view awaits around every bend.
