This challenging loop hike starts in the picturesque village of Bubión, famous for its traditional Alpujarran architecture and narrow winding streets. From the village, we head into the surrounding mountains, passing several scenic points including Fuente Fría, the charming Iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza, and the panoramic Mirador de Capileira, where the views of the valley are truly spectacular.
The trail continues through natural highlights such as Puente Chiscar, the Fuente del Castaño, and the Cortijo de los Majales, offering a mix of mountain paths, small bridges, and historic rural buildings. The route is moderately steep in places and requires careful footing, but the scenery makes every step worthwhile.
We reach the waterfall after passing Cortijo Haza Polvo and several small springs along the way. The hike loops back through Puente del Molino, Fuente Agria, and Fuente de San Antonio before returning to Bubión. This route is perfect for hikers who enjoy a combination of mountain landscapes, charming villages, and natural water features.

Esta estimulante caminata comienza justo a las afueras del pueblo de Bubión, dirigiéndose hacia el este por las montañas circundantes. La ruta nos adentra en el dramático Barranco de la Chorrera, un cañón con acantilados y arroyos que fluyen entre la vegetación. Durante el recorrido se disfrutan caminos rocosos, aire fresco de montaña y un entorno natural muy refrescante.
Continuamos hacia la cascada Tajo Cortés, un impresionante punto natural con agua que cae y un entorno escénico precioso. El sendero es exigente en algunos tramos, con subidas empinadas y secciones técnicas, por lo que se recomienda buen estado físico y experiencia en senderismo. Tras la cascada, el camino pasa por Capilerilla (sin entrar en el pueblo) antes de regresar hacia Bubión.
La caminata termina cerca de Bubión, ofreciendo un día completo de aventura, belleza natural y vistas impresionantes de las montañas de la Alpujarra. La cascada Tajo Cortés sigue siendo el principal atractivo, brindando un ambiente sereno y espectacular que recompensa el esfuerzo de la subida.
