This refreshing hike starts just outside the village of Dílar, in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. Soon we follow the Río Dílar upstream, with the sound of flowing water accompanying us throughout the route. The first section passes through a wide riverside area with wooden tables and benches, a popular natural meeting spot where people gather to enjoy the surroundings.
We continue along the Camino de la Fábrica, following the river and passing the machinery building of the small hydroelectric plant Nuestra Señora de las Angustias. Along the way we cross the river several times, allowing us to cool off as we go. At times we stay close to the riverbank, while at others we climb slightly higher for beautiful views of the Atalayones de Dílar on one side and the Cuerda del Trevenque and Boca de la Pescá on the other.
The route alternates between lush vegetation, narrow passages and more open or dry sections, making the landscape constantly change. The final reward is the Dílar waterfall, where crystal-clear, ice-cold water collects in a natural pool. A perfect place to rest, enjoy the surroundings and dip your feet in the water before returning the same way.
Esta bonita y refrescante ruta de senderismo comienza justo fuera del pueblo de Dílar, en pleno Parque Natural de Sierra Nevada. Pronto seguimos el curso del Río Dílar aguas arriba, con el sonido del agua acompañándonos durante todo el recorrido. El primer tramo atraviesa una zona amplia junto al río con mesas y bancos de madera, un lugar muy frecuentado para disfrutar de la naturaleza en compañía.
Continuamos por la Camino de la Fábrica siguiendo el río y pasando por el edificio de la pequeña central hidroeléctrica Nuestra Señora de las Angustias. A lo largo del recorrido cruzamos el río varias veces, lo que permite refrescarse durante la ruta. En algunos tramos caminamos junto al cauce y en otros subimos ligeramente para disfrutar de bonitas vistas de los Atalayones de Dílar por un lado y de la Cuerda del Trevenque y la Boca de la Pescá por el otro.
El recorrido alterna zonas de vegetación frondosa, pasos estrechos y áreas más abiertas o secas, lo que lo hace muy variado. El premio final es la cascada del Dílar, donde el agua forma una poza de agua cristalina y muy fría. Un lugar perfecto para descansar, disfrutar del entorno y refrescar los pies antes de regresar por el mismo camino.
