This beautiful hike starts in the area of Huétor Santillán and takes us through a higher altitude mountain landscape filled with impressive scenery and wide-open views. Soon we find ourselves surrounded by rugged terrain, where the fresh mountain air and sweeping panoramas set the tone for the day. Along the way, we reach elevations of up to 1600 metres, offering spectacular views over the surrounding peaks.
About halfway through the route, we follow sections of the Río Darro as it winds its way through the landscape, adding a lively contrast to the mountain scenery. The combination of flowing water, rocks and forest gives this part of the hike a special character. Not long after, we pass by Fuente de la Teja, a natural spring that has provided water to travellers for centuries, and a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
One of the highlights of this route is the Cueva de los Mármoles, a fascinating place where water and rock have shaped unique formations. If you would like to explore inside, it is recommended to bring a flashlight. The varied landscape and elevation make this hike an impressive and memorable experience.
This hike is quite far from Almuñécar, so it makes sense to travel together to the meeting point.
Esta bonita ruta de senderismo comienza en la zona de Huétor Santillán y nos lleva a un paisaje de montaña a mayor altitud, lleno de naturaleza impresionante y amplias vistas. Pronto nos encontramos en un entorno más salvaje, donde el aire fresco de la montaña y los panoramas abiertos marcan el ritmo del día. Durante la ruta alcanzamos alturas de hasta 1600 metros, con vistas espectaculares de las montañas cercanas.
A mitad del recorrido seguimos tramos del Río Darro, que serpentea por el paisaje y aporta un bonito contraste con el entorno montañoso. La combinación de agua, roca y bosque da a esta parte de la ruta un carácter especial. Poco después pasamos por la Fuente de la Teja, una fuente natural que ha abastecido de agua a viajeros durante siglos, y un lugar perfecto para hacer una pausa y disfrutar del entorno tranquilo.
Uno de los puntos destacados es la Cueva de los Mármoles, un lugar fascinante donde el agua y la roca han creado formaciones únicas. Si quieres explorar su interior, es recomendable llevar una linterna. El paisaje variado y la altitud hacen de esta ruta una experiencia inolvidable.
Esta ruta de senderismo está bastante lejos de Almuñécar, así que tiene sentido ir juntos al punto de encuentro.
